SEC sues 25 for insider trading on Lotus-IBM deal

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has charged a former IBM employee and 24 others with insider trading, alleging they made illegal profits of more than $US1.3 million when they were tipped off to IBM's plans to buy Lotus Development in 1995.

Hitachi to Buy EDS Stake in Hitachi Data

Hitachi Ltd. announced today that it will buy Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Corp.'s stake in Hitachi Data Systems Corp., which was formed by the two firms in 1989 to sell and service Hitachi mainframes and storage products.
The parent Hitachi company will assume full control over Hitachi Data Systems no later than April 21, Hitachi said in a statement. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Y2K suit against Intuit dismissed

A California judge has dismissed all damage and fraud claims in year 2000-related lawsuits filed against Intuit in the state during the past year after finding that no damages had occurred to customers, the company announced last week.
