Software testing in Australia has been given a boost with the launch of the first Australian Software Testing Awards, focussed specifically on the discipline.
The awards ceremony, taking place this month, will be held at the Sydney arm of iqnite, a global software testing conference.
Software testing agency, K.J. Ross & Associates will act as programme directors of the Australian leg of the conference.
Company director, Kelvin Ross, said the awards will help raise the profile of software testing in Australia.
“Computers are such an intrinsic part of everyday life now that software errors can have major impacts on things like business productivity and, in some cases, human safety," Ross said in a statement.
“As such, we see it as important to have an award for those who are excelling in this field.”
According to Ross, the awards will also encourage excellence in software testing in Australia.
Nominations for the award must be received by close of business 15 October.
Iqnite will run on 26-27 October at the Citigate Central Sydney Hotel.
