ACS settles with ex-CEO Denham

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has reached a settlement with former CEO Kim Denham.

In October Denham sued the industry representative body for misleading or deceptive conduct.

Denham departed the ACS in clouded circumstances in May and was replaced by ACS general manager of finance and business services, Sam Burrell.

At the time, ACS president Kumar Parakala refused to say whether Denham had been made redundant and would not clarify the reasons for her departure. Denham has also stayed under the radar since the split.

“The Australian Computer Society and former CEO Ms Kim Denham wish to advise that the matters in dispute between them have been settled to the satisfaction of both parties," a joint statement issued by the ACS and Denham on the matter reads.

“The terms of this settlement will remain confidential and no further comment will be made by either party.”

Federal Court of Australia documents show that the case was referred to mediation on 02 October and was due to continue on 25 February.

In November the ACS appointed Bruce Lakin as the new CEO of the industry body, taking over from interim CEO, Sam Burrell.

During the month outgoing ACS president Kumar Parakala announced he had taken up a new role as the head of the IT advisory business at KPMG in India.
