LONDON (04/17/2000) - Storage products manufacturer Seagate Technology Inc. today announced that it has teamed up with Tech Data Corp., one of the world's largest hardware and software distributors, for its North American channel distribution.
In a time when more and more distributors find themselves forced to change their business strategies due to changes brought about by the e-business marketplace, Tech Data has struck a major traditional deal. Seagate has engaged Tech Data as its fifth distribution partner for the North American market, the vendor announced today in a statement.
Tech Data said it believes the new distribution deal will create more business opportunities for resellers and systems integrators. Tech Data and Seagate already has a long-standing relationship, regarding the distribution of Seagate's tape drive products. This new partnership involves the distribution of Seagate's disk drive products and will start in July, Seagate said in the statement.
