IBM Offering Free Printer

SAN MATEO (06/08/2000) - Targetting small businesses and consumers, IBM Corp.

Thursday announced it has teamed up with Internet search engine Lycos Inc. to provide both hardware and Internet service for as low as $23 a month over four years, according to Brian Conners, the VP of Internet device computing for IBM.

Customers ordering any of the bundles before June 30 will receive a free Lexmark International Inc. Z11 color printer, according to IBM.

The offer, available exclusively through the IBM Web site, provides customers with an IBM Aptiva PC and unlimited Internet access from Lycos.

Three bundled service packages are being offered.

-- The Aptiva E-Series Bundle 3OU15MN, financed at $23 per month, or a one-time payment of $799. The PC in this bundle ships with a 533-MHz Intel Corp. Celeron processor, 64MB SDRAM and a 4.3GB hard drive.

-- The Aptiva E-Series Bundle 31U15MN, financed at $26 per month, or a one time payment of $929. The PC in this bundle ships with a 533-MHz Celeron, 64MB SDRAM and a 10GB hard drive.

-- The Aptiva E-Series Bundle 32U15MN, financed at $30 per month or a one time payment of $1,059. The PC in this bundle ships with a 566-MHz Celeron, 128MB SDRAM, and a 10GB hard drive.
