Earth Resource Mapping

Earth Resource Mapping has announced the latest release of the free ECW ActiveX Software Development Kit, which demonstrates the integration of compressed imagery with MapInfo's MapX applications, according to the company.

The MapX ECW Application Examples include sample data, development code and integration examples that make it easy to include ECW imagery in any MapX application, adding real-world meaning to vector-based maps.

The company claims that ECW compression makes it possible to view, use and combine very large (Gigabyte- and Terabyte-sized) images with vector-based GIS data.

Users can interactively pan and zoom through compressed images that are progressively updated on the screen with the ActiveZoom technology.

Developers can download the free SDK from the ER Mapper Web site, www.ermapper.comwww.mapinfo.com www.EarthEtc.comScenario SoftwareBrisbane-based Scenario Software has produced a finance and project administration package based on Centura Team Developer aimed at the construction and engineering industry.
