Melbourne-based software developer Oakton Computing has combined with Unisys Australia to win a complex project to develop the NSW Police Service's Complaints Administration and Management System (CAMS).
The CAMS project will be used by the NSW Police Integrity Commission and the NSW Office of the Ombudsman as well as the Police Service and is expected to be complete in 16 months at a cost of $5 million.
Having emerged as one of the recommendations of the Wood Royal Commission, the CAMS project is being developed on the existing e@gle.i. platform from Oakton which runs the current investigation management system.
"This is a large, complex and politically sensitive project that needs to be well managed. This is what Unisys does best," Allen Koehn, general manager, public sector, for Unisys South Pacific said.
