Newham quits Minolta QMS

Minolta-QMS managing director Greg Newham has resigned in a move that's sparked a shakeup at the printer vendor.

Asia-Pacific managing director Stuart Drysdale will take the reigns as the company spends the next few months restructuring its Australian operations.

Minolta-QMS is also on the hunt for a new Channel Sales manager following the promotion of Rhonda Chandler to Distribution Sales manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Drysdale was instrumental in the company's push to build its brand awareness throughout Asia in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. He will now begin working building Minolta-QMS brand locally, the first step being to hire a marketing executive to increase awareness of the company in the digital imaging market.

Minolta and QMS merged in April this year, QMS taking over Minolta's printer operations to form the Minolta-QMS printer division.

At this stage the reason for Newham's departure is unclear, but his resignation has been in the pipeline for some time, according to the company.

"Greg has been an active manager for Australia and we thank him for his valuable contribution and wish him well in the future," the company said in a statement.
