(06/09/99) - Motorola and Sun Microsystems yesterday said they signed a non-exclusive ten-year technology agreement for wireless IP (Internet protocol) technology.
The two companies will work together to deliver IP-based network servers, base stations and base-station controllers for wireless networks, according to a joint statement.
IP-based digital wireless networks allow network operators and service providers to deliver new services to consumers at more reasonable costs than older proprietary wireless networks, the companies said.
