AUUG announces new Govt software event

The Australian Unix User Group has announced it will host an inaugural conference on Linux and Open Source Software in Government to be held early next year.

The conference, currently scheduled for the January 12 and 13, 2004, in Adelaide, is being jointly organised by AUUG and Linux Australia as a “mini-conference” of linux.conf.au.

The user groups claim the conference will discuss best practices and experiences among policy makers and IT officials from Government and public departments as well as the academic sector.
