Scitec scores Group 5 maintenance deal

Network services provider Advantra has signed Scitec to deliver router maintenance services on the commonwealth government's Group 5 project.

Finalised last week, Scitec's contract with Advantra is worth $150,000 a year over its five-year term, according to Adrian Siebel, general manager of Scitec.

Group 5 covers IT outsourcing for five federal departments and agencies: Prime Minister and Cabinet, Communications, IT and the Arts, Transport and Regional Services, Industry, Science and Resources, and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

No stranger to government outsourcing contracts, Scitec currently provides maintenance services to CSC for the commonwealth's Cluster 3 deal, and the company is part of a consortium bidding for the Group 8 contract.

Advantra has also signed a deal AWA Technology Services worth $2.5 million for the provision of third-party maintenance and support for PCs and related equipment for Group 5.
