ANZ Bank unveils goMoney Apple Watch app

App can be configured to display a range of account balances

ANZ Banking Group is the latest financial services firm to release an Apple Watch app.

The goMoney app can be configured so that customers can view their account balances such as savings and credit card. Users can also view the last five transactions made on each account.

In September last year, ANZ released figures showing that the Android and iOS version of the app had reached $100 billion in transactions. Launched in 2010, goMoney has over 1.4 million users with an average of one million logins per day.

Last month the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) released two different Apple Watch apps, one aimed at consumers and the others at CommSec trading customers. The CommBank app for smartwatches includes an ATM locator, account balances and Cardless Cash option which allows consumers to withdraw funds from CBA ATMs without using their ATM card.

CommSec customers can view live share market information on the CommSec Apple Watch app. For example, customers can look at share portfolio, individual share holdings and cash balances. They can also use the app to receive share price, volume and news alerts and use the Siri service to ask for live share prices.

ING Direct has also released an Apple Watch app which can be configured to display a range of account balances such as savings and everyday accounts.

Westpac and its subsidiary St.George launched Apple Watch apps in April. Westpac’s app provides customers with information about where to find their nearest ATM or branch and a Get Cash code. Get Cash allows customers to withdraw cash from a Westpac ATM without a card.

In addition, customers can use the app to receive travel notifications at the airport and to advise Westpac of their travel plans prior to heading overseas.

St.George’s app includes Quick Balance- which allows customers to view up to two account balances- and an ATM/branch locator.
