Quick to jump on the .NET bandwagon, Accenture will announce next Monday a toolkit to help corporate users quickly develop and deploy applications that take advantage of Microsoft's .NET Enterprise Server platform.
To be announced at Microsoft's Tech Ed developer conference in Atlanta, the starter toolkit contains application frameworks, developer guides tools, and training modules. The various pieces of the toolkit are all shaped based on the company's experience of working with large accounts in creating architectures that exploit .NET.
"Based on out experience, .NET simplifies the development of Internet applications. We think the work we are doing now allows us to quickly implement enterprise-wide solutions based around .NET," said Karl Newkirk, managing partner of Accenture's Microsoft solutions group in New York.
Contained in the kit is a repeatable process for building component-based Web applications that enable a company to train its developers to build .NET applications and to leverage their abilities across a range of projects.
Also in the kit is a set of reuseable technical architecture components that extend out the core capabilities of the .NET Framework and VisualStudio.NET. It also has a series of intelligent frameworks, coding shells, and code generation utilities that help hasten the building process.
"Enterprise-level systems today demand enterprise-level scaling and component-based Web applications. Together we think we can deliver those kinds of solutions with Microsoft .NET," said David Mendlen, Microsoft's lead product manager for VisualStudio .NET.
