MCI WorldCom's Advanced Networks will announce next Monday a suite of network security solutions, which includes authentication services, managed and turnkey firewalls, network assessment, and training programs.
Pulling together its security assets from the Compuserve Network Services and ANS Communications acquisitions, MCI WorldCom Advanced Networks is offering an end-to-end security package targeted at large, multinational businesses, said Jason Comstock, group manager of security and dedicated VPN services at MCI WorldCom Advanced Networks.
According to company officials, the authentication services enable remote users to connect securely to a corporate intranet via verification of users' names and passwords. Both Security Dynamics' and Secure Computing's authentication solutions are offered.
To handle firewall administration and management, fully managed firewalls called InterManage are available through the suite. In addition, turnkey firewall solutions are being offered, which allow customers to manage and administer their own firewalls but receive service and support from MCI WorldCom. Customers can choose between Check Point's FireWall-1 or MCI WorldCom Advanced Networks' InterLock firewall.
SecureSweep Network scanning service is part of the suite, providing periodic network scanning via a multivendor approach. SecureSweep performs multiple scan, vulnerability reports, and recommendations for corrective actions. MCI WorldCom Advanced Networks also offers InterLock training in-house and certification training on CheckPoint FireWall-1.
The security suite is available now. Authentication Services are priced at $875 a month; Managed Firewall pricing starts at $3100 a month; Turnkey Firewalls are priced at $975 a month; SecureSweep is priced at $12,000 a year for 12 scans; and Security Training is priced at $2000 each user each class.
