St George Bank restores online services after outage

Outage affected Internet, mobile banking

St George Bank has confirmed that it experienced some issues with online and mobile banking earlier today.

Customers who tried to login to Internet banking via the bank's website received a notification that the application was unavailable.

A spokesperson told Computerworld Australia that the bank was sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused customers.

“Customers can go to a St George branch or call 13 33 30 for support,” said the spokesperson.

In August, St George’s owner, Westpac Australia, reported intermittent issues with its online and mobile banking service which lasted two days. Customers were asked to visit branches or use ATM and EFTPOS services.

A Westpac spokesperson said it did not experience any issues with online or mobile banking today.
