Lexmark appoints new Aust/NZ chief

Lexmark International has announced a restructure of its Asia-Pacific region operations.

The company's IT helpdesk, printer manufacturing facilities, regional marketing communications and human resources will now be based in Australia.

The restructure now sees the region divided into five areas, including Australia and New Zealand, South-East Asia, China, Taiwan and Japan.

The company said the restructure was prompted by growth throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Philip Carmichael, vice president of Lexmark Asia-Pacific, said: "The grouping of our business on the basis of 'like' markets in Asia-Pacific is driven by our need to more effectively use and deploy our resources across a diverse customer set.

"This restructure will also help us focus on further driving the successes of our product solutions and services division in Australia, while at the same time enabling focus on growth opportunities in South-East Asia, particularly India."

As part of the restructure, Henrik Stensfeldt will become managing director of Lexmark Australia and New Zealand. Former Australian MD and GM of Lexmark South Asia John Boughton will move into the role of vice president of finance and business development, Asia Pacific.
