UXC buys NZ Oracle JDE provider

UXC Limited has bought New Zealand's Jireh Consulting Services, an Oracle JD Edwards partner, and plans to merge the business with its Red Rock Consulting division.

IT services company UXC Limited (ASX:UXC) has acquired New Zealand's Jireh Consulting Services in a cash-and-stock deal.

UXC has acquired Jireh Consulting, an Oracle JD Edwards enterprise resource planning solutions provider, through UXC subsidiary Red Rock Consulting.

Red Rock plans to combine Jireh with its existing Australia-focused JD Edwards practice.

Jireh's current managing director, Mark Elley, will assume management of the combined New Zealand JD Edwards practice.

Red Rock CEO Jonathan Rubinsztein said that following the merger, the company will have over 100 consultants in New Zealand, and plans to add “substantially” to that total over the next two years.

UXC managing director Cris Nicolli added that the deal cements UXC's position as Oracle's largest JD Edwards partner.

JD Edwards the company was acquired by PeopleSoft in 2003 for $US1.7 billion (now $1.58 billion), which was subsequently acquired by Oracle in 2004 for around US$10.3 billion.

Financial terms were not disclosed, except that the deal involves a combination of cash and shares, and that a portion of the payment is contingent on future performance.

UXC shares fell 3.53 per cent in Friday's trading to $0.410.
