AGIMO expands whole-of-government telco panel

Optus, Telstra and Boeing Defence to form management panel

Federal government agencies now have access to an expanded whole-of-government panel.

In a post on the blog of Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO), Mundi Tomlinson outlined the addition of nine companies to the panel's roster: Business Strategy Review, Cisco, Cordelta Envista, Telsoft, the Strategic Directions Group, UXC, Transpire and Veridian Solutions.

The Telecommunications Management Panel is designed to help agencies with the redesign of new telecommunications, the management of mobile phone fleets and the improvement of billing and inventory management.

The blog entry said the arrangement is set to “achieve savings and efficiencies through the procurement process”, as well as take advantage of aggregated buying power.

The expansion of the panel is the second big announcement from AGIMO this week, with the agency revealing it had all but finalised its vendors for its data centre migration and facilities panels following after a major selection process that began in November 2010.
