Canon

Canon has announced the appointment of Innes Thomson as senior general manager of direct sales, and Paul Vella as assistant general manager for managed document services (MDS).

Previously, Thomson has held senior roles with Xerox, Fuji Xerox and HP, while Vella has had sales and management experience within the communications, ICT and print industry, including HP’s contracted managed print services portfolio.

Micro Focus

Enterprise application provider, Micro Focus, has announced the appointment of four senior hires for its Australian business.

Peter Hong has been appointed general manager for the public sector and will assist federal government agencies with modernising COBOL applications from his base in Canberra. Prior to joining Micro Focus, he was the client engagement director at iSOFT Health Systems, and also worked for SAS Institute.

David McAllister has been appointed account director for Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and New Zealand.

He previously held roles with financial institutions and telecommunications companies, and was initially trained as a COBOL (Common Business-Oriented Language) programmer.

Anthony Bishop has taken on the role of account director for NSW and QLD, and will be based in Sydney. He has previously held positions within the finance and public sector, most recently as the head of Asia Pacific for Futrix Software.

Eric Feinberg is the new account manager for Victoria, SA, and WA, and will be based in Melbourne. He has recently relocated from the US after joining Micro Focus in 2007. Prior to this, Feinberg held a sales and account management role at IBM.

Calvert Technologies

Former Adam Internet business consultant, Phil Tann, has been appointed to the dual role of account manager and business development manager for Adelaide-based small business IT specialist, Calvert Technologies.

Tann has previously worked in sales roles for smaller companies including Westech IT solutions, the Electronic Brain and Leader Computers.
