Visual Networks introduces monitoring software for SMEs

Cut-down version of VPM

Visual Network Systems has released VPM Xpress, a cut-down version of its network monitoring of its VPM product. The tool combines data from a variety of sources into a single view enabling enterprises to isolate and repair problems at an earlier stage.

The new product, based on IntelliTrace technology allows users to check on a particular application's performance, said Visual Network Systems, formerly known as Fluke Network Systems. The company added that the software contains many of the same elements as its big brother, scaled down for the mid-sized enterprise market. The product has also been simplified for installation by organisations without large IT resources, claimed the company.

"VPM Xpress is designed specifically for the mid-market. We have included a comprehensive set of capabilities for managing applications and end-user experience but in an affordable package, said said Lyn Cantor, senior vice president and general manager, Visual Network Systems. "Users can go from out-of-the-box to fully deployed in 30 minutes or less and benefit from the same power of our Visual Performance Manager to effectively deliver networked applications,"
