Telstra has overhauled its home bundles to include a higher data allowance, the telco announced today.
The Telstra Home Value Bundle now offers double the data (25GB) for $109 (previously 12GB for $98) and continues to include unlimited local and $1 STD calls.
The Home Ultimate Bundle 5GB ($108) has been altered to 100GB at $139 and Telstra’s largest home bundle, the Home Ultimate 12GB ($118), now costs $159 for 200GB and has an additional $10 monthly credit for international direct dial calls.
Ultimate 100GB still offers unlimited calls to any Telstra mobile from a home phone and Ultimate 200GB has continued its unlimited calls to any Australian mobile from home phones. Both plans maintain unlimited local and STD calls, and all three plans require a $35 upfront fee and are T-Box or T-Hub friendly.
The term ‘unlimited’ has come into contention of late with Optus rehashing the term to describe some of its latest Naked ADSL2+ broadband plans.
While branded as "unlimited", the two most expensive Optus naked broadband plans are capped at 100Gbs and 200Gbs per month respectively, and cost and cost $109.99 and $139.99 per month.
As reported by Computerworld Australia, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has recently launched legal action against Optus for using the ‘unlimited’ moniker and claims it allegedly violates The Trade Practices Act 1974.
The ACCC’s claims are based on recent television, radio and print advertisements by Optus that advertise “unlimited” calls on its $70 pre-paid Turbo Max plan and "unlimited" broadband and "unlimited" calls on their broadband and home telephone plan.
The competition regulator is arguing that the advertisements are deceptive due to both limitations and restrictions that the plans are subjected to and are in breach of section 52 of the Act.
