The Internet Industry Association (IIA) has announced the nominees for election to the 2010 board, which will be revealed next month at its gala dinner.
The nominees from all categories will be competitively selected, with the exception of Category B, for which there is one nominee only.
Category A
There are three vacancies available for Category A members, which are corporations, businesses, partnerships or sole traders with a relevant commercial interest in the Internet of less than $1 million per annum.
The nominees are:
- Alisdair Blackman, CEO, Digital Rehab
- Nick Ellsmore, CTO, stratsec
- Patrick Fair, partner, Baker & McKenzie Lawyers
- Charles Heunemann, managing director Asia Pacific, Webroot Software
- Daniel Kneidel, AccentU8 Marketing
- Samuel Py, CEO, SSI Pacific
Category B
There is one vacancy available for Category B members, which are corporations, businesses, partnerships or sole traders with a relevant commercial interest in the Internet from $1 million to $20 million per annum.
The sole nominee is:
- Peter Leonard, partner, Gilbert + Tobin Lawyers
Category C
There are two vacancies available for Category C members, which are corporations, businesses, partnerships or sole traders with a relevant commercial interest in the Internet of more than $20 million per annum.
The nominees are:
- Greg Bader, CTO, iiNet
- The Hon Mozelle Thompson, member of the advisory board, Facebook
- Samantha Yorke, director, Yahoo! Asia Pacific
Category D
There is only one vacancy available for Category D members, which are non-commercial entity members.
The nominees are:
- Assoc. Professor Matthew Allen, head of Internet Studies, Curtin University of Technology
- Richard Bone, executive director, WA Internet Association
