The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is looking to upgrade its Internet-based desktop banking application which currently supports critical Australian Government transaction payments.
With the new system the RBA is seeking to increase functionality in certain key areas such as the creation and exchange of payment files - such as Direct Entry, RTGS, and Overseas Payments.
It is also looking to gain functionality around the importation and validation of proprietary format files from external sources prior to exchange with RBA, and the downloading of proprietary format files to RBA's internal systems.
Security is also a priority, with the RBA looking for the solution to meet best practice security standards, with provision for dual control functionality, according to a request for information document.
"The Reserve Bank of Australia is reviewing options to determine if there is a cost effective outsourcing solution for the partial or full enhancement of the RBA's existing internet-based desktop banking application," the tender reads. "As such it is a requirement that the solution must be compatible with the RBA's existing internet service."
Further details of the upgrade are being kept from public disclosure.
