IBM Upgrades Web Hosting Package

FRAMINGHAM (03/29/2000) - IBM Corp. today announced a new version of its WebSphere Commerce Suite intended for service providers and financial institutions that set up and host e-commerce sites for small and medium-size businesses.

New features in WebSphere Commerce Suite, Service Provider Edition 3.2 (formerly known as Net.Commerce Hosting Server) include a bundled IBM Payment Manager for handling secure transactions, additional templates for creating storefronts and enhanced catalog creation capabilities.

The Service Provider Edition, which includes five merchant licenses, costs $10,000 per processor. Basic Store templates are $250 each, and Advanced Store templates sell for $500.

The software runs on Microsoft Corp.'s Windows NT, IBM's AIX and Sun Microsystems Inc.'s Solaris platforms.
