Indian outsourcing market warned to adapt to suit clients' needs

According to recently-released statistics, five Indian firms are among the top 20 highly rated outsourcing firms in the world, but five more have been bumped from the top 50 list.

Five Indian firms have made the top twenty client approval list in the annual Brown-Wilson Group's State of the Outsourcing Industry Report, but the remainder of the Indian outsourcing industry has been warned it's not responding to client needs.

According to Brown-Wilson, five more Indian outsourcing firms, each former top 50 placers, were absent from this years top 50 list, because they didn't respond adequately to their customers desires to have their front-office on-shore and outsource their back-office operations.

The top Indian firms were Wipro (6), Satyam (7), Genpact (8), Cognizant (14), and Tata Consultancy Services (15).

The report also states that the most attractive emerging outsourcing markets are currently in Brazil, Chile and Eastern Europe.

Hewlett Packard won the top spot on the list, Unisis was fourth, and Oracle was 16th.

The report showcases the results of five years of outsourcing research and insight from 24,000 outsourcing customer survey respondents from 40 countries.
