TPP Internet buys Hot Goanna

Company adds Google Adwords advertising tools to services portfolio

Domain name registrar, TPP Internet, has acquired Queensland-based Google adword advertising outfit, Hot Goanna, for an undisclosed sum.

TPP managing director, Peter Shilling, said Hot Goanna was one of its resellers that previously purchased domain names from TPP.

"We started talking to them a few months ago. They are one of the top resellers with Google in Australia, and it just seemed like an obvious connection for us to take on that product," he said.

"We have been looking to try and get search engine advertising as a product in our portfolio and this seemed like a good way of doing it."

All four staff will be kept on board, including the business founders - Mark Tull and Andrew Coates. This takes TPP's staff count to about 30.

The company would continue to trade as a separate entity, Shilling said.

In July, it announced plans to acquire organisations that provide complementary services such as search, hosting and domain space. Shilling said another acquisition was on the cards within the broadband space.
