Atempo and Storage Technology (StorageTek) announced the completion of testing and certification of Atempo's Time Navigator with StorageTek's new StreamLine SL8500 modular library system.

C2C Systems released Archive One Policy version 4.0, with new flexible features to help organizations enforce their specific long-term e-mail retention and retrieval policies. E-policies vary from company to company. Archive One Policy version 4.0 is designed to work with any e-policy. Archive One Policy is available for a free 30-day trial.

Chronicle Solutions is launching a new network content capturing product, netReplay, which helps businesses and governments comply with increasing legal requirements to store and make available records of electronic communications.

EMC ControlCenter can now apply retention policies to classes of items as well as to individual items.

EMC tiered storage platforms won compliance and retention, disk subsystems categories at the Storage World Conference. It was the only company given two MVP awards.

Emulex announced that its LightPulse LP10000 and LP10000DC Fibre Channel HBAs have been certified for use in HP-UX 11i v1 operating system environments.

Engenio Information Technologies (formerly LSI Logic Storage Systems) announced the QLogic SANbox 5200 stackable switch has achieved compatibility certification.

Intradyn announced the availability of its RocketVault product to the U.K. market, a stand-alone archive, backup, compliance, and disaster-recovery appliance for small to medium-sized businesses.

QLogic and Cisco Systems announced that, based on a design for full compliance with FC-SW (Fibre Channel Switch Fabric) standards, the two companies are now delivering core switches and blade server switches that have been tested and qualified as interoperable across a broad range of functions from basic port compatibility to sophisticated zoning techniques based on agreed testing protocols. SAN administrators can now build storage networks tailored to the specific needs of their applications using the Cisco MDS 9000 Family of Multilayer Intelligent directors and fabric switches and SANbox edge switches from QLogic.

Sepaton ('no tapes' backwards) unveiled its S21000-DS Virtual Tape Library that saves data to disk whilst emulating a tape library.
