HP stages PSG boot camp

Following the success of its imaging and printer recruitment roadshow, HP will hold a round of training to widen reseller interest in its personal systems range.

The Personal Systems Group (PSG) Boot Camp will also focus on the latest features of its notebooks, desktops, thin clients, smart handheld devices and workstations.

The sessions, revived after a four-year hiatus, follow similar events for its commercial image and printing range held earlier this year.

While resellers were doing a good job at addressing customer needs, HP was encouraging them to have another look at its entire portfolio, according to product marketing director, Paul Robson.

"We are trying to convey to resellers that we are the major brand to have solutions in all the key areas," he said.

The return of the event was also prompted by evolving customer needs around backup and disaster recovery, IT platform management and remote access, Robson said.

With a number of technological updates across the product range, HP was also keen to promote the above-the-box opportunities available from its notebook and iPAQ mobility ranges, Robson said.

"Thin clients are also an incremental opportunity for resellers, particularly around data security," he said. "There is also demand from the call centre and retail markets as well as from organisations moving away from mainframes."

The Boot Camp dates for HP's Personal Systems Group are as follows: Melbourne - September 13; Sydney - September 20; Brisbane - September 27; and Perth - October 4.
