Alloys targets security market

Following the success of its inaugural network products conference last year, Alloys International has announced it will stage a similar event in October.

NVP 2005 will include seven public workshops, 32 technical sessions and three certified courses in a one-day event, according to the distributor's network video product manager, Simon Hall.

Up to 70 per cent of the estimated 700 attendees would be end-users from a variety of vertical markets including infrastructure, mining, utilities, government, industrial, shipping and retail, Hall said.

"IT managers are increasingly getting involved with the decision-making process as they realise their organisation has to responsible for its own security," he said.

Vendors on display at this year's NVP would include Sony, Axis, iOmniscient and event sponsor, Canon.

"Canon is rapidly penetrating the security market," Hall said. "But at this stage end-users would know more about its products than resellers."
