EMC Introduces configuration management form storage networks

EMC has introduced Volume Logix, configuration management software for storage networks. A component of EMC's Symmetrix Enterprise Storage system, Volume Logix manages server authorization to access storage on Windows NT networks. In a shared storage environment, Volume Logix allows storage administrators to control access to storage for each server on the network. Symmetrix Enterprise Storage supports Fibre Channel, Fast-Wide Differential SCSI, Ultra SCSI and ESCON connections, allowing a wide variety of storage option support. It operates on IBM, Compaq, Dell and Hewlett-Packard servers running Windows NT. Pricing for Volume Logix ranges from $15,000 to $35,000, depending on the Symmetrix configuration.
