Corporate telco provider, Macquarie Corporate Telecommunications yesterday opened a new office in Tasmania.
According to officials, the recent signing of a deal with the Tasmanian Trust Bank sparked the decision to set up shop in the state.
David Tudehope, chief executive of Macquarie, said he expects the company to be the Tasmania's number two player after Telstra in the corporate market within the next two years.
The company also has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Other existing Macqaurie customers with branch offices in Tasmania include Toll Transport (TNT) and BOC Gases.
