AMP yesterday announced the appointment of Warwick Foster as chief information officer, reporting directly to CEO Paul Batchelor.
Having agreed to take the position after a changeover period, Foster will leave his current position as CIO at Colonial, where he has worked for the past five years.
Foster has also worked at Coles Myer between 1983 and 1995, where he was general manager of information services for K-Mart from 1989.
The announcement of Foster's arrival at AMP follows the 9 million-customer, financial services company's entry into a five year IT outsourcing contract with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) worth $550 million.
It is not known how closely Foster will oversee the CSC project.
